The decision it puts on your desk
If you operate a lending product in a market with thin credit files, AI-driven alternative underwriting is no longer experimental. Fibe's Persona AI framework uses UPI data, utility bills, and behavioral signals to score borrowers that the bureaus miss. Build your own alternative-data pipeline within six months or partner with a platform that has one. The IPO filing proves the model scales. The window to differentiate on AI underwriting closes when the first one goes public. One loose thread: the IPO has not priced yet. Indian retail investors punish fintechs that cannot show a clear path to profitability. Fibe's AUM growth is strong. Its net interest margin after credit costs will determine whether the market buys the AI-first narrative.

Indian digital lending platform Fibe launched an AI-powered credit intelligence tool called Credit AI Radar, giving consumers plain-language insights into their credit health beyond the standard three-digit score.
The platform aggregates data from multiple credit bureaus and runs it through FibeSense, the company's proprietary AI engine. Users interact with Fiora, an AI chatbot that answers questions like "What is my six-month credit trend?" in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
Fibe filed draft papers for an IPO with Indian regulator SEBI in June. The offering includes ₹750 crore in fresh equity and an offer-for-sale of more than 4 crore shares by existing investors. Assets under management reached ₹8,603 crore as of March 2026, growing at a 45 percent CAGR over two years.
The AI strategy runs deeper than the consumer-facing tool. Fibe has deployed AI agents across internal workflows for data collation, process tracking, and operational analytics. "As our loan book has grown, these AI-assisted workflows have allowed our operational capacity to scale without a proportionate increase in headcount," Chief Product and Analytics Officer Balakrishnan Narayanan said.
The company also uses Persona AI, an alternative-data underwriting framework that builds credit profiles from UPI transactions, utility payments, and income patterns. This lets Fibe lend to borrowers with limited formal credit history, a segment conventional underwriting would decline.
The Indian digital lending market reached 23.3 million consumers by December 2024, up from 14.4 million two years earlier. Fibe is one of several fintechs racing the same thesis: AI can underwrite where credit bureaus cannot.
One loose thread: the IPO has not priced yet. Indian retail investors punish fintechs that cannot show a clear path to profitability. Fibe's AUM growth is strong. Its net interest margin after credit costs will determine whether the market buys the AI-first narrative.
